When you hear the word “report,” what do you think of? A basic black-and-white document created in Microsoft Word or Powerpoint?
Thankfully that’s not all a report has to be. And Blinkbright Consultancy’s David Kirkham was set on doing something different. When he started his consulting business, he knew he was going to have to provide reports to his clients—but he refused to send out dry, boring documents.
Then he found Visme.
“I increasingly get turned off by dry reports and content, which historically has been text-based. I quickly realized when I started my consultancy that I wanted to do something different. So I did some research and looked at examples, and I liked the sound of what Visme was about.”
But what is so important about doing something different? Well, for one, it’s a great way for David to stand out and get a competitive advantage. However, Visme also provided him with the best solution out there for driving home the main points.
And so, he created his first Visme report for a client—and they were absolutely blown away.
David Kirkham is the founder of Blinkbright Consultancy, a small business that works with a diverse range of clients in industries like health and care services, environmental conservation, national and local government, and education.
And they’ve started using Visme in a number of client projects.

Some of these projects include an interactive virtual booth embedded on their client Frozen Ark’s website as well as a business plan that walks through the company’s vision and processes.
David started by using document format for his reports, but has since dove into horizontal presentation format for some of these projects, as well as the occasional infographic. With Visme, he can link any external data via Excel spreadsheet or live Google Sheet and have it auto-populate in his Visme project.

Although sometimes you simply can’t beat a document format for in-depth report content. However, David remains creative, putting together visual reports that allow his clients to easily digest the content he’s presenting them.

“My first project was to do a big evaluation of the creative industries sector. I produced what I thought was an amazing comprehensive report that was several hundred pages, then quickly realized that it was quite inaccessible. The key messages I was hoping to convey weren't going to be realized because of the medium I presented it in.”
Adaptation is key in a business, and David realized this. And because of this realization, he’s now able to create beautiful, in-depth reports that actually call out key points, making them easy for clients to understand.
“I came to terms as a service provider that I needed to do things differently, and decided that I wanted to make my content more accessible through the medium of visual communication. So I did my research and looked at the review websites and I liked the sound of what Visme was about.”
