Wellcome is a tech-enabled property management company based in Colombia, offering Airbnb-style homeowners smarter revenue and guest management across more than 600 properties in five countries throughout Latin America.
Xavier Cardenas Becerra is the CEO and co-founder of Wellcome. After the continued success of his previous company, My Revenue, Xavier and his team were impacted by the disruption COVID-19 brought to many industries. In his search to improve business models, Wellcome was born.
The Wellcome team includes 15 full-time staff members, including Xavier, contractors and partners for specialized projects.
Xavier was introduced to Visme 10 years ago while attending HITEC, the world's largest and longest-running hospitality technology and API conference.
While a presenter shared his findings, industry takeaways and tech solutions, Xavier was struck by how engaging and organized the presentation was.
Once the session ended, Xavier approached the presenter to find out what program he had used to create such an impressive presentation. The speaker shared that he used Visme, the tool of choice for him and his entire company.
Since Xavier and the Wellcome team are constantly exploring new technologies and strategies, they decided to sign up for one of Visme's paid plans and test its features.
"Before, we were using all basic tools like Microsoft Office and PowerPoint to do our presentations; we honestly weren't looking for a specific tool or feature, but as soon as I saw Visme in action, I could instantly see all the new and exciting opportunities it could provide us," Xavier shares.
As Wellcome expanded across various countries in Latin America, so did their team and workload.
Most startups either switch platforms or build in-house solutions as they grow. Xavier found that Visme scaled with them as the company expanded.
This benefit meant reduced costs in software change management, the ability to retain and store legacy data and a consistent platform employees could rely on to maintain workflow processes across teams, projects, departments and countries.
Xavier shares that “Visme is so easy and user-friendly to use. They have plenty of templates, graphics and formats you can use to put your creativity into action easily”
Tasks that once took days can now be finished in hours, freeing the team to focus on strategy and innovation. To date, they’ve built over 5,000 Visme projects, with that number expected to rise significantly in the coming years.
“One of the first reactions we saw from our team was how innovative the content looked. People really noticed that we were using new solutions that some of our competitors hadn’t even tried yet; it made a significant impact.
For example, I remember using fun animated characters and other creative elements that Visme provides. When we’re creating digital brochures, we can make them interactive by adding flipbooks, videos or polls, which really elevates the experience for whoever’s viewing it.
When I do a presentation, it’s a seamless experience for attendees as I don’t have to switch between different screens. I can embed a YouTube video, run a poll or show live stats right inside the slides," Xavier remarks.
A key feature Xavier found extremely helpful was Visme project analytics. Once a project is completed and shared using the live link feature, the team can see data on how the reader engages with the content, either as a whole or page by page.
“We’re planning to explore more Visme features, especially when it comes to project analytics Visme provides when someone shares or opens a document.”
For example, it would be really valuable to see how many people review a proposal, and where they spend the most time.
People usually spend more time on pricing. Having visibility into how people interact with those pages also lets us test ways to optimize the design and layout. This helps us understand what’s working and what’s not," Xavier elaborates.
“I think one of the biggest benefits is how much time we save. You don’t have to start from zero; you can begin with templates and ideas already there. Plus, the ability to add translations.
For example, sometimes I’ll use Visme AI Designer to get a few ideas, and then I look for templates in Visme that match what I need. It speeds up the whole process.”
The team has experienced two major wins since using Visme: the ability to keep projects and costs in-house and the flexibility to instantly personalize client presentations to win proposals.
“We already have templates, brand colors and typography set up in our brand kit, so the team just follows those standards. Everyone has room to be creative, but within the guidelines we’ve put in place," Xavier shares.
Slide management features in Visme allow teams to create branded templates and lock assets or specific content in place so everything stays consistent. This prevents outdated versions from being reused and gives the team a clear source of truth.
Wellcome’s team also takes advantage of features like password-projects to maintain security protocols and full version history to restore previous slides when needed. It’s a strong example of how Visme gives teams both flexibility and control.
The team at Wellcome is constantly on the move. Whether they’re building content, leading marketing efforts or meeting with prospects, they need tools that can keep up with the pace. Visme helps them show up prepared, even when things are changing by the minute.
One feature that’s made a big difference is real-time collaboration. Team members can work on the same project simultaneously, which has been especially helpful for Xavier.
If we need to tweak something on the fly, like personalizing the pricing at the last minute because we realize the client has a flexible budget, we can do that right there in the meeting," Xavier recollects.
This setup allows Xavier to feed his team live intel during client calls, which helps them personalize proposals on the spot. That level of agility increases their chances of winning bids.
“Visme doesn’t make teamwork or real-time updates complicated; it’s easy to use. That’s also extremely helpful, especially when you have people working remotely. You can actually see the changes happening live, and everyone stays on the same page," Xavier remarks.
When the Wellcome team started using Visme, they were mainly focused on providing content in the form of presentations and proposals, but in a much better way.
When the Wellcome team started using Visme, they were mainly focused on providing content in the form of presentations and proposals, but in a much better way.
From there, the team expanded Visme’s use to other initial needs like training materials, ebooks, instruction manuals and procedure content.
"What started as us just using Visme for presentations has completely changed. Now our goal as a business is to use Visme as a marketing tool, going beyond presentations. We're now using Visme to create virtual events, interactive invitations, social media content and anything to support our overall marketing objectives," Xavier shares.
In the past, content support for marketing initiatives would have been outsourced to a designer or design agency. Visme's user-friendly interface allows anyone to publish professionally created content with little to no design skills.
It allowed Wellcome's marketing team to feel empowered, have more content governance and be self-sufficient when creating on-brand marketing collateral without out-of-house support.
Additionally, they use features like Visme's Presenter Studio to make recordings of themselves while presenting alongside their slides, or Visme AI Text-to-Speech to add voiceovers for training content.
Xavier isn’t the only Visme user on the Wellcome team. Visme is used and integrated into every department's workflow for internal and client-facing uses. These departments include administration, finance, marketing, customer service, business operations and technology.
The operations team uses Visme to create manuals and documents that support property management processes, helping standardize procedures across locations.
Marketing relies on it to design promotional materials, build out client proposals and develop branded presentations that align with the company's visual identity.
Xavier also uses Visme to teach internal classes, lead workshops and run training sessions across teams, making it easy to share content in an engaging, interactive way.
Customer service builds a knowledge base and addresses frequently asked questions using materials created with Visme, improving team efficiency and customer satisfaction.
And the business technology team uses it to present complex data and insights, often embedding Power BI Dashboards in their projects to create more dynamic and visual reports.
Xavier and the team found Visme to be an excellent platform for creating training content and selling courses for their business.
“I remember during COVID-19, we created a course about security issues related to COVID. We tried to publish on a platform like Coursera or another reputable learning platform but ran into some restrictions because it was about COVID. So, we created and hosted the course ourselves using Visme," Xavier recalls.
The course received positive results due to its interactivity and online accessibility for trainees.
When they were presented again with the opportunity to create a training course for a leading company in Latin America, the team went straight into Visme. They were able to launch the course from start to finish while keeping everything in-house.
Because of Visme's ease of use, new team members don't require much training since the learning curve is low. Team members are shown the key features the team uses and then encouraged to explore on their own.
"We don't provide too much deep training for new employees. They simply create an account and start playing in Visme. Within a few clicks, they've already started to pick up on templates and the brand kit," Xavier recollects.
When someone joins the team, they must create a company signature and a Visme character. This is a mandatory task that Xavier ensures each team member completes to maintain a uniform look and feel when using Visme, whether internally or externally.
Visme’s become so integrated in the growth and history of Wellcome that it’s not only a unified content creation platform but a place that stores legacy data for the team.
“I remember someone on my team needed some information, and they said, ‘Give me a second, I know it’s in Visme.’ And sure enough, there it was; they were able to pull it up and present it right away. So for us, Visme keeps everything in one place and makes it easy to find what we need," Xavier recalls.
Wellcome didn’t just find another design tool. They found a platform that helped them cut costs, speed up workflows, win more proposals and empower every department to create high-impact content without bottlenecks.
Visme isn’t just for designers. It’s for marketers launching campaigns, sales teams pitching on the fly and growing companies who need scalable content without the agency price tag.
