I don’t know about you, but this past year was one of the busiest and most eventful years I’ve had in my life.

Besides continuing my journey as a new father, I was also privileged to bring you some of the most exciting developments in Visme’s functionality to date.

From launching my video series for non-designers to introducing a completely new way of creating infographics from content blocks, my team and I have had an action-packed year.

To give you a quick overview (and since we practice what we preach by using our own tool to create all the visuals on our blog), I decided to summarize our 2017 with this neat interactive infographic we designed with Visme.

And for those who want to learn more about Visme’s journey, you can click here to read a more detailed overview of all the things we accomplished in 2017.

From PowerPoint Alternative to All-In-One Visual Content Tool

When I started Visme five years ago, my initial vision was to create an animation tool for designers like myself who could no longer use Adobe Flash, but we quickly tapped into an unmet need for an easy-to-use presentation tool for non-designers.

I quickly realized that there was a huge gap between the desire to communicate visually and the skills and tools needed to create impressive visual content.

So my team and I decided to take up the challenge.

What began as a PowerPoint alternative has evolved into an all-in-one tool for creating all types of visual content—from presentations and infographics to printables and interactive pieces—used by individuals and companies from all walks of life, including a few notable names such as:

And what started as an online app has also expanded into an educational hub where we provide free design resources in the form of videos, books and practical tips.
