You know it: people love watching videos on social media.
In fact, studies show that video is one of the most engaging types of content on social media.
This is exactly why Visme has introduced a new feature that lets you export your animated designs, such as infographics, social media posts, presentations and more in video format.
Take your static designs to another level and create a short video instead to share on social media. Trust me, your engagement rates will thank you for it.
Let’s dive into a quick step-by-step guide of how you can create and export a video in Visme. Screenshots included!

Visme’s template library has hundreds of options to choose from, from different types of infographics to Facebook posts, Instagram Stories and other social media graphics.
You’ll find both animated and static templates in the library. If you want to export a video, you can get started with any of these.
Don’t worry about using a static template if it works well with your brand and content—you can always add animations to it and export as a video later.
Simply hover on a template you like and click on “Edit.”
You can also get started with a blank canvas if you’re looking to design something from scratch. Visme’s editor offers extensive customizability options, so if you have something unique in mind, feel free to select the “Blank Template” option.
Once you have a template that fits your content, it’s time to start editing it in the drag-and-drop editor. Replace the placeholder content with your own, change colors and fonts, add icons and photos, and more.
If you want to export a video, however, you would need to add some animated elements and motion graphics to your design.
For example, you can add animated data visualizations, like bar charts and line graphs. You can also tap into a library of animated illustrations, characters and gestures. All of these assets come with their own settings, so you can adjust the colors, speed and more as you see fit.
You can also insert audio in the background or add motion effects to any of your existing icons, photos or text elements.
Once you’re happy with your final animated design, it’s time to export it as a video.
To export video and download it to your computer, navigate over to the top-right corner of the Visme editor, and click on “Download.”
On this screen, you’ll see a bunch of different download options, which takes us to the next step...
Visme offers several different download formats for your animated designs, including HTML5.
If you want to export a video, however, go ahead and click on the Video tab to see the options. Visme currently offers two video formats that are optimized for sharing on social media:
Pick the format that works best for your design. If your design contains audio and you want to export a high-quality video of it, go for the MP4 format.
If your design is just a short animation without audio, and you’re looking for a lower file size and medium quality that’s best for social sharing, we’d recommend choosing the GIF option.
That’s it—all you need to do to export your video is click on the Download button and cheer wholeheartedly as the bar hits 100%!

Don’t want to download/export a video but still looking to share it online?
Visme offers you several ways to do that.
Skipping the download option helps you save storage and access the video from anywhere, as long as you have a device with an internet connection.
Here are 3 ways to share your Visme animation without needing to download or export video.
This option lets you publish your animated video on the web, which means that it will have its own URL and Google will be able to index it.
Choosing this option lets anyone find and access your design on the web. You can also submit your animated design to the Visme Gallery so other creators can view it and get inspired.
If you want to generate a private URL for your video and share it with only specific people, you can select the “Share Privately” option.
Choosing this option means that only the people who have the link would be able to view it, and Google will not index it.
If you want to embed your animated video in your blog, web page or newsletter, you can easily generate a responsive or fixed width embed code.
This is useful if you want to update your animated design frequently in Visme. It will just pull the updated data into wherever your video is embedded.
Creating an animated design and exporting it as a video in Visme is super simple. You also get several additional options to choose from, including online sharing and embedding.
