How a Digital Marketer is Using Visme to Create Engaging Content

Lawrence Snow is a digital marketer who oversees all online content and maintains various websites for the International Security Driver Association (ISDA), based in Medford, Massachusetts.

As the director of ISDA's social media strategy, he is always looking for ways to improve his organization's online presence. One day, he had the need to not only find a software that would convert existing PowerPoint presentations into interactive and visually appealing slides, he also was looking for a way to promote a webinar series on the science of driving through animated banner ads that he could share on social media and embed on websites.

After giving Visme a try, he was impressed with its capabilities and even created a video review of the software, which he posted on YouTube. We had a chance to conduct a short interview with Lawrence to find out more about his experience with Visme. Here is what he had to say in his own words.


Tell us a bit about yourself:

The International Security Driver Association (ISDA) is an association that provides and supports an international forum of protective services providers who share knowledge for the ultimate purpose of enhancing professional and business standards. ISDA serves the corporate protective services community with an emphasis on secure transportation and security driving.

Our members are security practitioners who supply protective services to corporate executives, high-net-worth individuals, military personnel, and law enforcement agents and officers. ISDA provides its members precedent-setting educational, mentorship, networking, marketing programs and opportunities.

Our association offers Basic and Certified memberships. Basic membership requires no pre-qualifications. ISDA-certified membership requires the completion of a certification process. The process follows guidelines defined by credentialing organizations and standards that are recognized in all other industries. The certification has been recognized by the corporate community for 40 years.


What role do you have at ISDA?


The association formally launched in 2014 and although relatively new, the concept and processes for certification, offering knowledge, enhancing professional standards, networking and mentorship has existed for over 40 years.

In my role at ISDA, my responsibilities include implementing and executing all digital content, developing and executing  our social media strategy and enhancing and maintaining various websites under the ISDA umbrella.


What distinguishes your organization from others?


What separates our association from others is our commitment to constant learning.

You can spend more time on training that does nothing to increase your potential--or you could spend your time learning how to release your potential. Unless you can get your potential to the market place, it is only potential and nothing more. ISDA is an Association designed to release members’ potential.

ISDA believes that sharing knowledge is the most powerful marketing tool available. We supply members the largest collection of educational resources, which is disseminated via blog posts, recorded webinars, videos and white papers.

In addition to the exclusive content, ISDA offers members a wide variety of services, which include copy editing and marketing through our extensive online network.

We have created a platform for members to use the most powerful and proven marketing tool available: word of mouth.


How did you hear about Visme?

The founder of Visme, Payman Taei, contacted me through email after viewing the YouTube video review I did for Mention, a web-based monitoring tool, and asked if I could continue exploring it to see all it has to offer. I’m glad he asked.


What did you create with Visme?

We are currently working on converting our existing PowerPoint presentations into interactive, visually appealing slides. We have several webinars coming up in the next few months on the topics of the science of driving, the business of security and Escape the Kill Zone . To promote this webinar series, I’ll be creating several animated banner ads to share on social media and embed on our network of websites.


What features do you like the most?

There are quite a few features that I like about Visme, such as:

  • The ability to publish and share your Visme project by embedding on websites and sharing on social media. No one else, to my knowledge, has these extensive capabilities.

Would you recommend Visme to others?

Yes, I would absolutely recommend Visme to our members, colleagues and peers.

Visme makes it fun to create presentations and bring them to life. I was using multiple services to create my digital content, but Visme does it all, not to mention that the price points make it very affordable.


What features would you like to see improved?

When using animation in presentations, I would like to have the ability to make things appear and disappear on the click of a button, rather than timed.
